Steam Explosion Pretreatment with Different Concentrations of Hydrogen Peroxide along with Citric Acid: A Former Step towards Bioethanol Production

The present paper focuses on the utilization of steam explosion method for efficient pretreatment rice straw, used as a prominent substrate bioethanol production. Native straw contains abundant chemical compounds in form cellulose, hemicellulose, and lignin 32.4%, 57%, 12.5%, respectively. Pretreatment with different concentrations H2O2 (0.05%, 0.1%, 0.25%, 0.5%, 0.75%, 1%) was impregnating agents at an optimum temperature 121°C 130 kPa pressure. After pretreatment, cellulosic content increases up to 54.5% while there reduction hemicellulose 46.5% 6.7%, morphological changes were analyzed both before after using FTIR, TGA, XRD. reducing sugar estimation carried out DNS reagent absorbance measured UV spectrophotometer 540 cm-1 wavelength. Estimated results show yield 220.05 g/l from 0.05% ( v / ) pretreated sample 273.21 sample, H2O2, citric acid ratio 1 : same previous concentration. XRD data shows enhancement cellulose accessibility upon 13.3% thereafter increase concentration H2O2. While combined enhanced 19.6% than untreated straw. This work mainly core objective sustainable production through novel approach fermentable sugar.
